Baby J #2: First Trimester Bumpdate!

How Far Along? 13.... first trimester is done! Hard to believe!

Size of Baby: Currently the size of a peach!
Gender: Not sure.... but I feel like I am having a boy this time!

Weight Gain: + 3 lbs

Maternity Clothes: Not much as far as maternity clothes go yet! Most everything still fits at this point!

Nursery: Waiting a little bit on the gender to figure out the whole nursery business!

Movement: Not yet, I can't wait though!

Symptoms: It is amazing to me how different this pregnancy has been than my last so far! I  have had some nausea but it has been mostly at night and just makes me want to go to bed early. I haven't gotten sick at all which is nice but the nausea sticks around for a longer time! Other than that I'd say my only symptom is being super tired!

Sleep: Still sleeping pretty good at night.... but am exhausted all day. Chasing around a toddler and being pregnant is no joke!

Cravings: No major cravings so far... but just the strong desire to buy random things at the grocery store. If it sounds good, I want it!

What I Miss: Nothing yet!

Best Moment This Trimester: I found out about this pregnancy one day before going on vacation. When I was late I took a few tests and they kept coming up negative. I was taking one last test before going on vacation and was going to have my Dr order a blood test if it was negative but it was POSITIVE! I kept it a secret from Eliot that night, whipped up a big sister shirt for Siena, and put it on her when we arrived at our hotel in California! It was so much fun to surprise Eliot even if I couldn't stop laughing!

Looking Forward To: Meeting our babe!

BIG NEWS!!

We have some exciting news to share! Siena is going to be a big sister in March! We are so excited about our newest addition.

(In true second child fashion I have barely documented this pregnancy at all, but updates coming soon!)

Siena Marie! 18 months!

As usual, I am a couple of months behind, but either way here is Siena's 18 mo update!

What's New:
It is absolutely crazy to me to think of how much you have changed in the past six months since your first birthday.

Your fine and gross motor skills and language have literally grown leaps and bounds and if I could bottle you up right now I would. I just love seeing your silly little personality shine through more and more! You definitely act like a toddler at times but you are the bestest little buddy there is!

You know how to say:
Hi
Ba-Bye
No
Yes
Mama
Dada
'Nack (snack, which you ask for all day everyday!)
Nu-no (Juno, our dog)
Wha-ta (water)
Cah (car)
Truck
Monkey
Duck
Doggy
Playes (please)
Tangchu (thank you)
Nana
Anana (banana)
Mo (more)
Luh-Ooh (love you)
Nanight
Melmo (Elmo)
Apple
Okay
Elsa
Ana
Abby
Cookie
Cracker
Ernie
Big Bird
Moon
And SOOO many names of family members!

You still LOVE to climb.... up and over anything you get a chance to climb up.

You love singing and dancing! You know how to do the motions for Five Little Monkeys, Twinkle Twinkle, Wheels on the Bus (the babies & mamas on the bus are your favorite parts) and Head, Shoulders, Knees, & Toes! You love watching them on YouTube and it literally seems like you are learning a new one everyday.

Eggs, waffles, cheese, broccoli, bananas, strawberries, and watermelon are some of your favorite foods!

You love playing in water and "helping" me do the dishes.

Since my last update you have grown 2 lbs and 2 in and are now 23.5 lbs and 30.5 in as of your 16 month appointment!

You are Mama's girl through and through and are happiest when you are on Mama's lap.

Being outside at the park or at the beach is your favorite!

There is really nothing that scares you and you are super adventurous (although a lot that you try to do scares the heck out of me!)

Singing Happy Birthday is your favorite and you call cake "birthday." We sing happy birthday to most of our relatives on a daily basis per your request!

You make everyday the most fun and we are so lucky to have you! Although I can't believe you are such a toddler now and not really a baby anymore I can't wait to see what you learn and do next!

Siena Marie: One!

Since Siena just turned 15 months, err actually is about to turn 16 months, I think it's about time we get her 12 month update up #momfail

this month:
This month you started walking! About a week before your birthday you started to take a few steps here and there and then on your birthday you just started walking! It almost seemed like it came out of nowhere but you were so proud!

You've become a good little sleeper this month....Before bed we read you a book, give you a baba, turn on your sound machine, and you just lay down and go to sleep!

We went to Austin and San Antonio this month! We went to a wedding and you rode in Willy Nelson's old tour bus, pretty impressive for an 11 month old!

We celebrated Thanksgiving this month and you loved getting to try all the yummy food and spending time with family!

Also, most importantly we celebrated your BIRTHDAY! We had it at an indoor play space in town and had a Winter Onderland theme! It was a blast!

stats:
21.5 lbs
and
28.5 in

wearing:
You are wearing 12 month and some 12-18 month clothes and size 4 diapers!

sleeping:
You are still sleeping pretty well which is great! You usually sleep from about 7:30-6:30/7 and take a morning and afternoon nap.

eating:
You drink about four-five 6 oz bottles of formula a day, eat three meals, and one snack. You are a really good eater! We have started to wean you off formula and onto whole milk and you are doing pretty well.

likes:
You are such a happy girl that there is soooo many things you like.
Mama is at the top of the list, you love Dada too of course, but there isn't much that can't be fixed in your world like a hug from Mama.

You love people..... no matter where we are you are always waving and saying "HIII" to passerby!

You love doggies.... especially our dog and your dog cousins!

You still love to climb and do things that are a little scary!

You love to ask for "mo" and watch "melmo" Whenever we figure out what you are saying you clap your hands and get so excited!

dislikes:
There is not much you do not like.... you are a pretty happy baby! The only think I can think of is being contained.

milestones:
You finally got your top tooth, and the other one looks like it is going to cut soon.

You started to walk!

We started to transition you off formula.

You are trying to say more and more words.

You can sign the words "more" while saying "mo" and "all done."

Friday Favorites!

Linking up with Momfessionals for Friday Favorites!

1. Snow days are my favorite! Not really but like everything else having a baby in the mix really makes a lot of things more fun! We woke up to a surprising 5 inches of snow on Monday morning and I couldn't wait to bring little miss outside! It was her favorite at first until she went into it face first! I can't even take how cute her snowsuit is though!

2. Kidizen is my favorite! Do you guys have this app? It is basically like an online consignment sale with kids stuff! It makes it so easy to sell your kiddos clothes/buy more! They have clothes, shoes, toys, and books. Here is the stuff I have listed right now! Look up Dixie Bell Designs to find me and let me know how to find you!

3. Baking is my favorite! This week I made a banana bread and attempted to make macarons. I failed miserably at the macarons but the banana bread was good!

4. Play dates are my favorite! This week we met up with some of our favorite mama and baby buddies that we haven't seen since before Christmas. It is so nice to have friends who you can literally discuss ANYTHING with!

5. Weekends are my favorite! I hoping for a weekend with a good mix of productivity and laziness... And hopefully a win for the Pats on Sunday!!

what are your favorites this week??

Show & Tell Tuesday: Momfessional Moments!

I am linking up for Show and Tell Tuesday and today is about Momfessional Moments!

Some things I must confess
1. Bribing is an effective parenting tool... even with a 1 year old! I have to confess that I let the baby touch, chew on, and play with lots of "illegals" while trying to wrangle her to change her diaper. Diaper cream, her toothbrush, my lipgloss whatever she's usually not allowed to have! She is so wiggly that this is a must.

2. Screen time is too. Sometimes you just have to let the littles watch a little Disney Jr.  Mickey and the hot dog song are sometimes the only way I can get anything done!
3. When my husband is home I spend way longer in the shower than I need to! A momma needs her alone time!

4.  Siena get her first donut the other day... mostly because I wanted some!

5. My daughter has a more stylish shoe collection than I do... I just can't not buy them!

6. My 1 year old know how to activate Siri on my phone... I think that's a bad sign.

7. Some days I have it all together, most days I  do not.... But we are all in this crazy, messy, beautiful parenting adventure and doing the best we can! And that is enough!

What are your momfessional confessions?

To My Baby On Her First Birthday....

Because of Christmas craziness... I never got Siena's birthday/12 month update posts up, so pretend it is December 9th when you read this.... :)!
_________________________________________________________________________________

To my sweet, spunky, smart, sassy Siena,

Today you are ONE! This year has been a whirlwind and gone way too fast and because of that I am a mess of emotion today. They say that nothing prepares you for motherhood and I think that is the truth.  No one can explain the all consuming and overwhelming love you feel when you become someones Mama. I was sooo nervous the first few days we had you home, but we quickly found our groove and had an amazing year.

I have watched you learn SO much this year and have felt so happy for you every time you reached a new goal. You work SO hard. You smiled, you giggled, you rolled, you crawled, you learned to stand, and then you took your hesitant first steps. Every milestone you hit left me feeling bittersweet. I was so excited to watch you learn new things right before my eyes but sad that you were growing so quickly! You surprise Daddy and I every single day showing us something we didn't even know you knew!

You were born during the snowiest winter we have EVER had.... so we spent a lot of your first days bundled up inside or walking the mall. We made some new friends and I am so thankful for the mama and baby friends we have met this past year.  We were SO happy when spring and summer came and spent so many sunny days outside or at the beach. You loved every minute.

There are so many things that I never want to forget about from when you were a little baby, like how your eyes twinkled and you stuck out your tongue at me when I first laid eyes on you, or how when you first learned to laugh out loud we would say "pumpkin pie!" to get you to giggle, or that you never stop moving until you asleep (seriously), or how since you were a tiny baby you stick out your bottom lip when you are sad or about to cry. You put every single thing in your mouth when given the chance.....you have an insatiable curiosity and I love that. You are a bit of a wild one and will try anything. While it has given me anxiety more than once this year, I hope this never changes,

You are growing and thriving everyday. I love your silly and sweet personality. I hope you never lose your adventurous and fearless spirit, even if it makes my heart skip a beat on a daily basis. I love you more than I can describe in words and I can't wait to see what your second year has in store for us!

Love,
Mama
